Genuinely didn’t expect to see such a full-throated defense of Soto from a Yankees fan this season. Great stuff (bias notwithstanding) 👏 love the passion.
I completely agree with you. The thing that gets me is the narrative that he “abandoned the Yankees”. It would be a different thing for me if the Yankees had drafted him, and he left once his contract was up. He was there for 1 year, and as you say in your post, he was very clear the entire season that he’d be open to every team. I’m not the biggest Soto fan, but I personally think that the storylines surrounding him are ridiculous.
Thank you Caleb! Yes it's such a ridiculous and fictitious storyline that he "abandoned the Yankees". There was no commitment he had to them and had the right to go anywhere he wanted. As a Yankee fan of course I'm disappointed he didn't return, but all season knew of the likely possibility and he didn't have much weight invested in the yankees where he for his own benefit "should of stayed." Like i said he came in a trade and it wasn't even his choice to be here. Then he goes to a different team in free agency. I hate to break it to the fans but that's pro sports in 2025.

Thank you Drew! Imo there's no reason why a Yankee fan should wish bad on the Mets
